Happy May! I hope you all enjoyed your Spring Break! It’s hard to believe that we’re in the penultimate month of the school year!
Last month, the PTA invited Heather Forest, a singer and storyteller, to perform for our students. She shared stories via song, and students loved participating with words and hand motions. It was an engaging morning for our children!
The PTA is excited to sponsor Gary the Great, a renowned magician, for our Spring Family Fun Event on Monday, May 6th. He is sure to surprise and excite the children and family members! Please note that in the event of inclement weather, the performance will be rescheduled for Wednesday, May 15th.
Staff Appreciation Luncheon will be on Tuesday, May 14th. If you are still interested in contributing, please refer to this SignUpGenius. Thank you so much for helping to make this day so special. The staff is always very appreciative of the efforts.
Spring Sing is around the corner! This is always a favorite among both students and families. Dress your child in their best Spring attire and be ready to take some pictures! Thank you to Mrs. Glickman, the music teacher, for her hard work and preparation.
May is also the month in which the Budget Vote takes place at the High School. The PTA supports voting “Yes!” for the budget. Please see the main PTA newsletter for more information about the upcoming vote.
Our decorating committee continues to work hard to make Homestead such a beautiful, happy place. Thank you to Jess Power and Brittany O’Shea, co-chairs, and to the rest of the committee for making Homestead so welcoming!
May is Sun Safety Awareness Month! As the weather turns warmer, please remember to keep the children (and yourselves!) safe in the sun by wearing protective clothing and hats and applying sunscreen. Related, it is especially important to stay hydrated, so please remember to send your children with water bottles to school.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warmly,
Amy McDonough
