Dear Hemlock School Families,
I cannot believe I am turning another page in my calendar and August is already here. The first day of school is quickly approaching and I for one am very excited!
This is my first year serving as your PTA Director and I am looking forward to a very prosperous and fun-filled year for both parents and students. I am both honored and excited to have this opportunity and l am certainly looking forward to working with all of you to make this a most successful year for our children.
The beginning of any school year includes a great deal of activity. So before we begin, I would like you to keep in mind some important dates and important information:
- Back to School Night will be on Monday, September 19th at 7PM. This is an extremely informative meeting. You will meet your child’s teacher in their classroom and get an understanding of what a day in a “new chapter” of their life will be like. You will also meet your class parents who will run the lottery for class trips, class parties and any other volunteer opportunities that will arise throughout the school year. Your class parent will be sending you a list of these opportunities prior to Back to School Night so that you can check your calendar in advance.
- Our first PTA Meeting will be on Friday, October 21st at 9:15AM in the Hemlock multi-purpose room. These meetings are a great way to keep abreast of what is going on at our school. You will receive the latest updates from our principal, teacher representatives and PTA committee leaders. Please make every effort to attend. There will be four meetings throughout the year and I look forward to seeing you there.
Being a PTA Member is very important. Enclosed in this packet is our membership drive information. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Family membership is $20.00 per household. Cultural Enrichment Programs, speakers and presentations for parent enrichment, health and safety programs and family fun nights are just some of the things that our PTA organizes and sponsors. Our success is a direct result of your membership participation! Please mail your membership today! Early bird incentive before September 10th will guarantee your inclusion in a raffle.
