Function of the Publicity Committee

The Publicity Committee was created to advertise the many great activities that the PTA funds and/or   promotes.  Each school has, or should have, a designated  representative. The school rep's function is to  photograph PTA events at their schools and forward those pictures to the committee chairpeople.  They may opt to write an article or create a flyer themselves, but they must be submitted to the chairpeople for their approval.  Alternatively, they may request that the chairpeople write the articles.  If the second option is selected, the school reps should provide the necessary information concerning the event and submit that, along with any photos, to the chairpeople.

As for the other PTA committees, they should submit photos to the Publicity chair-people for posting on the website.  Individual committees may decide whether to publicize the event themselves or to have the Publicity Committee handle it.  If they choose the latter, they, too, should submit information to the Publicity chairpeople in a timely manner.

The Publicity chairpeople are responsible for posting items and photos on the website, in the GC kiosks and/or in the local newspapers.  They assist other committees in publicizing their events, on request.  As to district-wide events and activities, such as the Blood Drive, general meetings, Homecoming and the June Calendar meeting, the Publicity chairpeople take the lead in publicizing them.

  COMMUNICATION TIP!
Want to create a pdf and don't know how?  Or you don't have the software... All you have to do is go to the Microsoft homepage and in the "search" box, type in "pdf add-in."  When the screen pops up, simply download the add-in.  Then, when you work on a file and want to convert it, simply select "save as" and the "pdf" option will appear.
